Building Resilience (Grade 6 to 10)

holistic learning

Plan Details

Albert Einstein has rightly said, “If you have never failed, you've never tried anything new.” It is also commonly said – Participation is more important than winning. The one who plays doesn’t always win; losing is also a part of the game. When we help students to cultivate an approach to life that views obstacles as a critical part of success, we help them develop resilience.

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles overcome while trying to succeed.

Students who develop resilience are better able to face disappointment, accept failures, learn from mistakes, cope with loss, manage stress, adapt to change, never be reluctant to try again, emerge from challenging experiences with a positive sense and most importantly - believe in themselves. Resilience helps to achieve optimal mental and physical health.

Through the interesting activities of the 60-minute workshop, the students will learn the true and practical meaning of resilience, its importance in daily life and ways to build resilience. The students will know that it is one of the most important survival skill. A resilient child develops perseverance, a never give up attitude and a growth mindset.

The workshop is appropriate for age group: 11 to 15 years, i.e. from Class 6 to 10. The school/ educational institute can decide to conduct it for any one or more grades from Class 6 to 10.

This plan provides detailed guidelines to the trainer/ teacher who will conduct the workshop.
