Only a happy and confident child succeeds and not the one who is anxious or depressed. When one’s mind is frazzled and stressed, and emotions are taking over, then it adversely affects the day to day activities. 

Learning the skill to manage emotions is extremely important. It is human to have all types of emotions but one must learn to control the behaviour which results due to different emotions. A child may feel angry, frightened or depressed but does not show harmful behaviour towards others and chooses to remain calm. Children who get into harmful behaviour, not only spoils relations with others but also feels stressed and depressed themselves. On the other hand, children who manages emotions well:
• Feel good about themselves, and don't suffer from self-esteem issues
• Are able to face and adapt to changes
• Enjoy life with fun and laughter
• Have less stress, and are better equipped to deal with stress
• Have better relationships with others
• Are happy and content

This 60- minute workshop consists of activities, focused on imparting a better understanding of different emotions, ways to manage different emotions in different situations and understand emotions of others and build empathy towards others.

The workshop is appropriate for age group: 10 to 14 years, i.e. from Class 5 to 9. The school/ educational institute can decide to conduct it for any one or more grades from Class 5 to 9
This plan provides detailed guidelines to the trainer/ teacher who will conduct the workshop. All the necessary resources such as video/ PPT/ display resource/ handouts/ worksheets/ Parents’ Circular etc required to conduct the activities are attached with the plan.
