Plan Details

Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was an American statesman and lawyer who served as the 16th President of the United States from March 1861 upto April 1865.

Abraham Lincoln Day is an American legal holiday marking his birthday – 12th February. We have brought a 20 – 25 minute assembly plan based on Abraham Lincoln Day.

The purpose of this assembly is to provide knowledge to the students about Lincoln's childhood, his political career, his views on slavery, the Civil War and the Emancipation Proclamation.

The students will learn how renowned he was, not only for his accomplishments, but due to his outstanding personality as well. Apart from being a shrewd military strategist and a savvy leader, his most noted trait -honesty, gave him the title ‘Honest Abe’. The message of his most remarkable traits - honesty, empathy, sympathy, thoughtfulness and distinctive leadership is conveyed to the students through this assembly. On this day, we commemorate his incredible life journey.

This plan can be used by schools of any country. The schools can conduct it for a grade or few grades from Class 1 to 10.

The plan has a main manual illustrating the flow of the event along with the description of the scripts/ performances/ activities in detail and also includes all the necessary resources for the assembly. Activities involving videos, PPTs are not  taken for this assembly as a projector facility may not be available in many school grounds.
