Plan Details

Durga Puja, also called Durgotsava, is a six day long Hindu festival of India observed from the sixth day of Navratri to Dussehra.

The worship of Goddess Durga takes place on a magnificent scale, huge and artistic pandals, magnificent idols of goddess Durga, people dancing on the beats of drum and evenings surrounded with the divine tunes of Goddess Durga aarti, colorful fireworks and mouthwatering food delights are the main features of every Durga Puja celebration. 

The aim of the assembly is to highlight the religious significance of the Hindu festival with a special focus on the mythological story associated to it, presented in a creative and interesting way.  The drama ‘The Unfathomable Power’ covers the killing of the demon, Mahishasura by Goddess Durga. The victory of good over the evil is message given to the students. The dances and the grand celebration of the festival bring to light, the authenticity, spirit and vibrancy of the festival. The fervor, enthusiasm, spirit of oneness and happiness in people are beautifully depicted in the assembly. 

Please Note: This assembly can be conducted by the school on any one of the six-day festival, starting from sixth day of Navratri to the tenth day, Dussehra.

This plan can be used by schools of any country. The schools can conduct it for a grade / few grades/ all the grades from Class 1 to 10.

The plan has a main manual illustrating the flow of the event along with the description of the scripts/ performances/ activities in detail and also includes all the necessary resources for the assembly. Activities involving videos, PPTs are not taken for this assembly as a projector facility may not be available in many school grounds. The plan is available in soft copy format (only).
