Plan Details

Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday in India, is celebrated on 2nd October. This day is celebrated in the honour of the birthday of India’s Father of the nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Internationally this day is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence as Gandhiji was the preacher of non-violence.

The assembly is based on highlighting the values and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. The students would learn about many inspirational life events of Mahatma Gandhi through the assembly. The drama in the assembly ‘I want to be like Bapu’ is been put up by the performers, each of them are inspired to take up a specific profession when they grow up after been inspired by the character of Mahatma Gandhi such as a doctor, lawyer, teacher, journalist etc.

His extraordinary qualities such as serving the society, selflessness, charity, honesty, truthfulness, non-violence, patriotism, compassion for animals, hard work etc are depicted in the assembly and finally, apart from choosing any work profession, inculcating Gandhiji’s values in lives will truly help students becoming great human beings.
