International Tiger Day (29 July)
Plan Details
International Tiger Day is celebrated annually on 29th July, it was established in the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit, 2010, organized by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Global Tiger Initiative, where 13 tiger range countries gathered to address the alarming decline in tiger populations.
The primary aim of International Tiger Day is to promote a global system for protecting the natural habitats of tigers and to raise public awareness about the critical threats they face, such as poaching, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflict.
This assembly aims to celebrate International Tiger Day by raising awareness among students about the critical situation of the tigers. The assembly is based on the theme ‘The Majestic Tigers’, which aims to educate students on the importance of tigers in our ecosystem, the severe threats they endure due to human activities like poaching and habitat destruction, and the ongoing efforts by conservationists, governments, and communities to protect them. By understanding these issues, students will learn the importance of wildlife conservation and the role they can play in saving tigers. This assembly incorporates a sense of responsibility and active participation in saving tigers and preserving our natural world.
Schools of any country can use this plan. The schools can conduct it for a grade or few grades from Class 1 to 10.
The plan has a main manual illustrating the flow of the event along with the description of the scripts/ performances/ activities in detail and also includes all the necessary resources for the assembly.
