Plan Details

Eid-al-Fitr, or the ‘Festival of the Breaking of the Fast', marks the end of the month of fasting, Ramadan.

People eagerly wait for the Crescent Moon on the last night of the month. The 'Chand Raat' is the time for celebration for the Muslims. The special prayer of Eid is dedicated to Allah. Houses are decorated and special dishes are prepared. People wear new clothes and visit family and friends and wish them ‘Eid Mubarak’. Younger ones wait for the Eidi, i.e. money and small gifts presented by elders of the family.

The assembly is based on highlighting the significance of the Eid-al-Fitr festival and its important message which is promoting brotherhood, seeking forgiveness, being grateful, doing acts of kindness, charity, good deeds and giving up evil actions. Through a theme based drama- ‘International Eid Party’ students will portray the ways of celebrating the festival, famous mosques, famous cultural traditions, different dresses, food dishes and traditional sweets in different countries like India, Africa, Turkey, Indonesia and many more. Knowing about the unique Eid traditions and festivities across the globe will be an exciting and fun loving learning experience for the students.

This plan can be used by schools of any country. The schools can conduct it for a grade / few grades/ all the grades from Class 1 to 10.

The plan has a main manual illustrating the flow of the event along with the description of the scripts/ performances/ activities in detail and also includes all the necessary resources for the assembly.
