World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development is observed by the UN and is celebrated globally on 21 May every year.

Many of the world’s conflicts comes due to cultural differences. Bridging the gap between cultures, acceptance of cultural diversity, helps to inculcate trust, respect and mutual understanding among people around the world.

Presenting a special activity/ competition plan based on ‘World Day of Cultural Diversity’. Through activities, the students will learn about the richness of different cultures around the world and live in harmony with everyone.

Duration: 30 to 40 minute each – Class wise activities from Nursery to 12th

(Please Note –It is recommended to conduct this activity in the first period. The school can either conduct it like a competition or just like a special activity for the day. A short brief about ‘World Day of Cultural Diversity’ to be given in the assembly is also provided in the manual.)

The class wise activities are as follows:

• For Nur To UKG – A warm welcome with a smile

• For Class 1 And 2 – International Food Cuisine

• For Class 3 To 5 – Flaunt it!

• For Class 6 To 8 – How different is India?

• For Class 9 to 12 – The World, one big happy family

The activity manual has all the required instructions/ description of the class wise activities. Required resources such as handouts, worksheets etc are provided along with the activity manual. (Plan available in soft copy format only.)
