World Tourism Day is celebrated on 27 September each year by United Nations. Its purpose is to foster awareness, importance of tourism, its social, cultural, political and economic value and global challenges faced by the sector. 

The day is celebrated with appropriate events and related themes to promote tourism. 

The students should know the benefits of travelling such as it improves social and communication skills, provides peace of mind, enhances tolerance for uncertainty, provides real life experiences and knowledge, broadens horizons, boosts confidence and creates wonderful life time memories. 

Presenting to you, a 60- minute Workshop Plan for World Tourism Day, the engaging and fun filled activities of the workshop aims to enhance critical thinking, creative and imaginative skills in students related to travel, broadens students’ knowledge about travelling, travelogue, itinerary, safety instruction cards etc and inculcates love for travel.

The workshop is appropriate for age group: 10 to 15 years, i.e. from Class 5 to 10. The school/ educational institute can decide to conduct it for any one or more grades from Class 5 to 10.

This plan provides a teacher reference manual having the detailed description of the activities along with the required resources such as video/ PPT/ display resource/ handouts/ worksheets/ Parents’ Circular etc. The plan is available in soft copy (only).
