holistic learning

Plan Details

International Children's Book Day (ICBD) is a yearly event sponsored by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), the day is observed on or around Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, 2nd April, whereas UNESCO has proclaimed 23rd April as World Book Day since 1995. Both the events are celebrated all over the world with a common motive, i.e. to promote reading habits in children.

Bringing to you a 60- minute ‘Workshop Plan on Reading skills’ consisting of different fun filled activities.

Do children in today’s age have good reading habits? A child often reads stories at the early stage but as the school syllabus becomes lengthy in the further years, reading is often neglected.  Also, in today’s age where we have the internet to search any specific information, the reading habit in children gets neglected.

The workshop is appropriate for age group: 6 to 10 years, i.e. from Class 1 to 5. The school can decide to conduct it for any one or more grades from Class 1 to 5. Please Note – The schools can either conduct the workshop on 2nd April or 23rd April.

This plan provides detailed guidelines to the trainer/ teacher who will conduct the workshop. All the necessary resources such as video/ PPT/ display resource/ handouts/ worksheets/ Parents’ Circular etc required to conduct the activities are attached with the plan. The plan is available in soft copy (only).
