Presenting a 60- minute ‘Workshop Plan on Bullying and its ill-effects’ for Anti Bullying Day (4th May). The UN declared the official day to be May 4.  

The workshop plan is based on adverse impact of bullying and aims to inculcate good qualities like empathy, sympathy and kindness in students.  

The students who are bullied, develop low self-esteem, feels socially withdrawn, gets into depression, conflicts, anxiety and feelings of loneliness.  

Students who frequently bully others are more likely to dislike school, show violent behaviour, damage property, get into theft and may become drug addicts in future.  

Students who witness bullying may feel fearful or powerless to act and guilty for not acting, have increased mental health problems, including depression and anxiety. When bullying continues, the entire school climate and culture can be negatively affected. This impacts student learning and parental confidence in the school. 

The workshop is appropriate for age group: 8 to 12 years, i.e. from Class 3 to 7. The school/ educational institute can decide to conduct it for any one or more grades from Class 3 to 7.  

This plan provides detailed guidelines to the trainer/ teacher who will conduct the workshop. All the necessary resources such as video/ PPT/ display resource/ handouts/ worksheets/ Parents’ Circular etc required to conduct the activities are attached with the plan.
