Celebrated on July 28 each year, World Nature Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable society and to ensure the well-being of mankind, we all wisely manage our natural resources. We all depend on natural resources like water, air, soil, minerals, trees, animals, food, and gas to live our daily lives. To keep the balance in the natural world, we must also help various species to continue to exist.

On this day, let us make a conscious effort in contributing to nature conservation. With the aim to make the students understand the adverse effects of harming the natural elements, presenting a 60- minute Workshop plan for World Nature Conservation Day (28 July), an initiative towards sustainability.   

The activities of the workshop, will make the students understand the true meaning of ‘Sustainability’ and inculcate environment-friendly habits to lead a Green Lifestyle. The students would realize the consequences of wasting /over using natural resources, harming animals and birds, destroying trees and flowers and use of plastic. 

The workshop is appropriate for age group: 6 to 10 years, i.e. from Class 1 to 5. The school/ educational institute can decide to conduct it for any one or more grades from Class 1 to 5. 

This plan provides detailed guidelines to the trainer/ teacher who will conduct the workshop. All the necessary resources such as video/ PPT/ display resource/ handouts/ worksheets/ Parents’ Circular etc required to conduct the activities are attached with the plan. The plan is available in soft copy (only).    

Please Note: The school can conduct the workshop on 28 July or any other closer date feasible.
