Plan Details

National Youth Day, also known as Rashtriya Yuva Diwas and Vivekananda Jayanti, is celebrated on 12 January, being the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984, the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since 1985 the event has been celebrated in India every year.

Swamiji’s ideals are a great source of inspiration for the youth. Commemorated nationwide, schools and colleges host events such as processions, speeches, music and conventions. Swami Vivekananda's teachings, rooted in Indian spirituality and his Master Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa's broad perspective, continue to influence youth organizations.

Schools and other educational organisations can conduct a drama for this event.

Presenting a drama script based on the glimpses of the life journey of the great Swami Vivekananda (1863 – 1902). Vivekananda was one of the most influential philosophers and social reformers in India. He is now widely regarded as one of the most influential people of modern India and a patriotic saint. His life journey from Narendranath Datta to a global spiritual leader teaches the power of self-discovery and the transformative impact of spirituality.

Duration of the drama: 18 minutes

The drama can be performed in a hall, the school ground, a classroom or the auditorium. Schools in any country can use this plan. The schools can conduct it for a grade / few grades/ all the grades from Class 1 to 12.

The plan consists of a drama script only (soft copy). It does not contain any songs for dances, backdrop images, costume recommendations or any other such related documents.
